spec-wise, it's a big leap forward from my old turntable, which doesn't have its own pre-amp. (i've had to hook it up to a 120 watt PA system and it's still weak!) obviously, it looks adorable and old-school, it's small, portable, and plays 45s, 33-1/3s AND 78s — which my old one doesn't. the kicker is it's got USB hookups so i don't have to re-buy my simon & garfunkel, judy garland, et al music again! plus, itunes doesn't always have the compilations and versions i'm used to on vinyl. funny to think the digital age limits us that way. i guess it's vinyl's revenge...
